    We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

    Catalyzes the conversion of dethiobiotin (DTB) to biotin by the insertion of a sulfur atom into dethiobiotin via a radical-based mechanism.

    1. In biotin synthase, abstraction of a hydrogen atom from the C9 methyl group of dethiobiotin results in formation of a dethiobiotinyl methylene carbon radical, which is quenched by a sulfur atom to form a new carbon-sulfur bond in 9-mercaptodethiobiotin. PMID: 21859080
    2. Asparagine 153 and aspartate 155 of bioB are important for retaining intermediates during the catalytic cycle. PMID: 19199517
