  • 功能：
    One of the few identified sugar gustatory receptors identified so far and which promotes the starvation-induced increase of feeding motivation. Required in combination with Gr64a to detect sucrose, maltose, and glucose.

    1. While physiological imaging reveals that both populations are responsive to fatty acids (FAs), IR56d/Gr64f neurons are activated by medium-chain FAs and are sufficient for reflexive feeding response to FAs. Moreover, flies can discriminate between sugar and FAs in an aversive taste memory assay, indicating that FA taste is a unique modality in Drosophila. PMID: 29121639
    2. Gr64f is required in combination with Gr5a for the behavioral response to trehalose and for production of nerve responses to trehalose. PMID: 19026541
